We are a family run business with the definite idea that we treat our customers as we wish to be treated, especially when it comes to the protection of personal information. We thought the best way to accomplish this was to step you through what happens to the information you enter upon placing an order.

1) Our store is hosted by Yahoo merchant solutions, they provide the secure network that allows you to enter your confidential information. Everyone is pretty familiar with this, if you see the little yellow "lock" symbol in the lower corner of your browser, it indicates you are operating in secure mode. ** Note: Your credit card IS NOT processed at time of order, you will see why this is important later.

2) Once the order has been placed, Yahoo sends us an email indicating the placed order, and the items purchased. Your credit card number is not included as email is not a secure environment.

3) We then log onto a secure section of our yahoo site, and print out the information, not down load it. Why is this important? Because it means that none of your credit card information is stored on our computers, one less place a potential hacker can't find it.

4) We then process the order. Here is where the credit card processing comes in. All credit card processing is handled by us in-house, not over the internet, again one less place for a busy body to gain your information. What this also allows us to do, is adjust any totals for back ordered items etc... before we place any charge on the card at all. And here is something else we do as a safety precaution. If your billing and shipping address are different, we will include only a packing list in the box, a copy of the credit card receipt and invoice are placed in a separate envelope and mailed directly to the billing address. Hopefully, if someone has managed to get your card number, you will know when the receipt arrives in your mail for something you didn't purchase. (Please be sure to read Important credit card processing policy #7)

5) So what do we keep, we keep a copy of the original order and credit card receipt on paper only. We are required to do so, by our credit card processing company's agreement. Once the time period is up, the information is destroyed. YAHOO however, maintains the confidential order information for 30 days, after which time it is also removed/deleted from their server.

6) Last but not least, WE DO NOT SELL information. You will receive something from us maybe once or at most twice a year via, mail or maybe email telling you about specials, but that will be rare. We don't like junk mail and killing trees so we have a tendency not to do it.

7)IMPORTANT Credit Card Processing policy. During this time of scams, fraud and theft, it is important that we take every measure possible to protect you, the consumer, and your confidential information. It has come to our attention however that there is an issue concerning the validation checks preformed by the credit card companies (not us) in order to approve a transaction. There are several pieces of information we are required to enter to gain approval, the problem is with two of the validity checks: one is the Address Verification (AVS) and the other: CVV Match (that's the number on the back of your card). If these numbers do not match the credit card companies records, but if all other information is correct they will still APPROVE the transaction. However by doing so, that puts the responsibility back on the merchant to decide how to handle the transaction. If we accept the transaction, we are then opening ourselves up to issues concerning stolen cards, charge backs and higher processing fees among other items.

In light of this fact, it is our policy that if the address verification does not result in a match, we DO NOT ACCEPT the charge as valid**, and immediately issue a credit card void for the sale. We will contact you to correct the situation, we allow only two such instances for the same card per order, after which we will require a new credit card number or the order will be cancelled. But please remember, if you call your credit card company that same day, they may inform you the charges were approved, this has happened to us before. The credit card companies do not receive our voids until we close out our machines at the end of the day. When this situation arises, it is also our company policy, regardless of the order outcome, completely cancelled or otherwise, copies of the voided transactions are sent to you for your records.

We believe that when the information is not correct that the credit card companies should decline the transaction as opposed to putting the onus on the merchant. Unfortunately, we are a small fish in a large ocean and until the credit card companies change their policies we are required to create our own. We realize that this may cause a small inconvenience to you our customers. But, we hope you will agree this appears to be the best policy to protect both of us from unauthorized card use.

**Some exceptions are made for overseas transactions, as different safe guard methods are utilized.
