Fitting Your Blanket:
To prevent slippage and rubbing it is important to have the correct blanket size. Horseware® Ireland blankets are euro-cut and the sizes do not run the same as other manufacturers' blankets.
Sizing for Coolers/fleeces: theses blankets are generously sized, measure the distance from the center of the chest to the center of the tail and subtract 4 inches. Horseware® blankets are sized in 3 inch increments, so you will need to choose the closest size available.
For Turnouts & Sheets: measure the distance from the center of the chest to the center of the tail and find the next larger blanket size, this is especially true with medium and heavy weights as the fill takes up some of the blanket size.
The sizing chart below will help, it is based on medium build horses, so size up or down as required for your horses body build.

Care of Your Horseware® Ireland blankets:
To keep your blanket as comfortable as possible for your horse and to maximize the blanket's life, you should clean your blanket annually. First, remove excess dirt from the outside of the blanket with a brush and hose. The blanket can then be washed either by hand, or on a delicate cycle with cool water in a commercial washer. Use only very mild soap. Horseware® Wash will effectively remove dirt without damaging the waterproof coating. When the blanket has been washed, allow to drip dry. DO NOT PUT BLANKETS IN THE DRYER. THIS WILL DAMAGE THE WATERPROOF COATING AND VOID ANY WARRANTIES.
Differences between Rambo®, Rhino®, and Amigo®.
To help take some of the confusion out of buying we thought we would add this little foot note.
The biggest difference is in the turnout blankets is the material. All Horseware® turnouts regardless of the line are waterproof and breathable. It is the actual fabric itself which is generally responsible for the pricing difference. The Rambo® is the toughest and most expensive line, made out of the "ballistic nylon", next comes the Rhino® in their Ripstop polyester, and lastly the Amigo® in its 1200D polyester shell. You may also find some differences in closures, surcingles etc... The best rule of thumb we could come up with to help take the guess work out of which turnout blanket is right for you is this. The rougher the environment the blanket will be exposed too, meaning other horses, rolling, pasture environment trees etc, and of course known blanket destroyers.. the tougher the shell you need to purchase. You can never over buy, but under buying can result in a destroyed blanket and a very unhappy horse owner, and we certainly don't want that. Blankets are too expensive, getting the right one for you situation is important.
